This is the last call for entries into the next round of the box leagues for those of you who intend to join. Please let me know by the end of today, Sunday 24th, if you would like to enter.
The leagues will run until the end of June and the rules can be found below:
Tennis League Rules
The format is that everyone plays 4 or 5 matches every round, with tighter deadlines and more movement between leagues, so everyone should move quickly into leagues against similar level opposition. At he end of each round the top scoring player will go up and the bottom scoring player will go down, (subject to player entry in the following round). The organiser may use some discretion in adjusting groups based on level in order to integrate new players.
If players are level on points the positions will be decided by number of matches played, favouring those who have played more matches, followed by whichever player has the most match victories, followed by their head to head record against each other, followed by total sets won minus lost.
Matches are best of 3 tie-break sets. Players may agree in advance that if match is one set all and time is running out, it can be decided by a champions tie-break, first to 10 points (with a two point margin).
Scoring into the system is 1 point per set (or champions tie-break) won. For example if a player wins 2 sets to love, the score is 2-0. If a player wins 2 sets to 1, the score is 2-1.
