It's hot! Hope you've all been enjoying some tennis over the last few months and have been inspired by Wimbledon, etc.
Congratulations to the following who won their box leagues and will be promoted:

Box 6 - Ed Ryland
Box 7 - Allan Monks
The next box league will start this weekend and will run until Sunday 1st September. Please reply to this email to let me know if you would like to sign up. The deadline is Friday at 2pm.
A reminder of the format is below for those who are new to the box leagues. It's all good fun, not too serious and everyone is welcome to enter. If you haven't played before please let me know your rough ability level.

The format is that everyone plays 3 or 4 matches every month, with tighter deadlines and more movement between leagues, so everyone should move quickly into leagues against similar level opposition. Each month the top scoring player will go up and the bottom scoring player will go down. If players are level the positions will be decided by number of matches played, followed by their head to head record against each other.
Matches are best of 3 tie-break sets. Players may agree in advance that if the match is one set all and time is running out, it can be decided by a champions tie-break, first to 10 points (with a two point margin).
Scoring into the system is 1 point per set (or champions tie-break) won. For example if a player wins 2 sets to love, the score is 2-0. If a player wins 2 sets to 1, the score is 2-1.
